Maguro Magic
The Maguro Magic was developed alongside a mate preparing for a trip to Japan to chase large tuna land based, where lure performance isn’t optional—it’s everything. The result is a purpose-built surface lure designed to be skipped across the top at medium to high speeds, throwing a fleeing baitfish profile that pelagics can’t ignore.
At 200mm long and 100g unrigged, it casts well and tracks clean under pressure, making it ideal when fish are up and moving fast. The addition of a belly treble helps the lure hold in the water in rougher conditions while also increasing hook-up rates when fish commit at speed.
Like the rest of the range, it’s constructed from 100% recycled HDPE plastic and built tough with a 2mm stainless steel thru plate and stainless steel internal weights—designed to handle brutal strikes and sustained fights.
While tuna were the focus, the Maguro Magic is just as at home targeting kingfish, GTs, queenfish and Spanish mackerel—any predator that’s switched on and hunting the surface.

Product Specs
The Maguro Magic is a durable, eco-friendly, fast sinking topwater plug designed for long casts and fast retrieves. When skipped across the surface it is perfect for mimicking fleeing baitfish and enticing aggressive strikes.
The lure body is 100g (unrigged) and weighted with stainless steel which gives it great casting distance and also means you don't have to worry about the toxicity of lead.
The 200mm long body is made from solid 100% recycled HDPE plastic which means you can drag it up the rocks all day. To give you piece of mind the 2mm 316 stainless steel thru-plate means you will stay connected to your fish of a lifetime no matter what.
The Maguro Magic is designed to be retrieved at medium to high speed and can be skipped across the surface to mimic a fleeing garfish or worked just below the surface for a side to side action.
The Maguro Magic can handle a variety of hook sizes and configurations but was designed with 3/0 trebles in mind. You can run hooks on both the belly and tail hangers or alternatively for a more erratic action, just run a rear hook.
Avoid tying your leader directly to the front tow point—instead, use a split ring with a solid ring, swivel, or loop knot for smoother, more responsive action and reducing the risk of knot failure.
